Description
6" x 4" color photograph of the entrance to the Ladder Cave on Cricket Hill, and a 4" x 7" color photograph of the interior. Includes B/W copy of a page from Clay Perry's 1946 book New England Buried Treasure, showing Rodger Johnson lowering his son into the cave. Seated nearby on a rock is Merton Lee (1899-1965) and to his left, his son Deane Lee (1920-2007). The caption reads:
"The entrance to Ladder Cave, Cricket Hill, Conway, Mass., which can be negotiated only by a boy. Once a hefty man attempted it, got stuck, and had to be chiseled out."
