8" x 12 1/2" hard bound book of lined paper, brown with marbled pattern cover. Heavy wear on the corners and binding.
First inner page is titled "F. E. Patrick's Record Book, Sept. 1858."

Lists 65 numbered criminal cases,each taking one or more pages, in which F. E. Patrick administered as Justice of the Peace. Each case record includes the date, a summary of the circumstances, the individuals involved, and an itemized list of fees and fines assessed and to whom owed. Covers from Sept. 1858 to Sept. 1861.

The unused pages in the back of the book were later used (possibly by a daughter or other relative) as a scrap book for crochet and knitting patterns, dated from the 1870's to 1913.
