3 1/2" x 7" ledger book with a cardboard stock cover, of the 5th Ward Market in Springfield Mass. The first three pages show inventory accounts of an "M Reynolds", with the remaining pages filled with handwritten recipes presumably by Mary Riley. The inside of the front cover is hand-inscribed "Miss Mary Reilly [Riley], Conway Mass. May 8th, 1898". Heavily worn with a cloth adhesive binding.
