Bound book, 5" x 8 1/2", with leather jacket hand-sewn over boards, 570 pages with 12 illustrative plates and index covering contemporary methods of medicine and surgery in the late 18th century. This is a first edition of the single volume American version of a six-volume set by Benjamin Bell published in Europe. Fair condition with some staining, foxing and insect damage. William Hamilton's name is inscribed on a number of the front and end pages.
